The B&B Bioblitz
is calling on schools citizen scientists to help gather information about Australia’s biodiversity.
Taking place in schools during National Biodiversity Month September (and National Threatened Species Day) each year.
Requirements to Participate
Requirements to participate include joining the B&B Bioblitz project on iNaturalist beforehand (to be covered in the on-line workshop).
Workshop will provide knowledge & skills in:
- What is citizen science?
- How citizen science can help biodiversity and other scientific research.
- Curriculum links: areas and some examples.
- Basic how-to of logging on and uploading observations.
- Using iNaturalist: Learn about species in your local or broader area; find them on a map; how to link to Wikipedia and information about taxonomy and status; learning about dashboards.
- Basic how-to of taking images to upload.
All workshops will feature information about citizen science, uploading observations and how to link to curriculum.
Each session will be the same content covered.
