PlantingSeeds is working with six schools in the Lismore area to establish ‘B&Bs’ – Bed and Breakfasts for Birds, Bees and Biodiversity. Thanks to QBE Insurance grant funding, Albert Park Public, Kadina High, Lismore High, Mullumbimby High, Dunoon Public and St Carthage’s will be planting over 1,000 plants, and will receive over 20 habitat boxes, three native stingless beehives and new sets of gardening tools. Around 400 students will participate in special indoor and outdoor biodiversity and citizen science lessons and activities with resources shared with families and the community.

The B&B Highway has over 160 B&B locations in NSW, Queensland and Victoria. The initiative has planted over 9,000 plants, educated more than 10,000 participants, and revegetated over 4000 square metres of green space.
